The course “Building Construction” covers the following topics:
Part “Building Construction”:
Components of a building..Building structures, construction systems and designs.
Modular system in construction. Site preparation works.
Earth works. Shallow foundations. Over-ground walls. Building waterproofing from ground moisture and water.
Walls. Cast-in-situ walls (monolithic).
Formwork. Types.
Masonry walls. Execution of construction
Walls built with large brick, hollow or RC building blocks.
Window and door openings in the wall. Building mortars.
Non-bearing interior walls. constructed via layered assembly.
Suspended curtain wall panels in buildings without skeleton frame. Suspended curtain wall panels in buildings with skeleton frame.
Suspended frame walls.
Skeleton frames.Flooring and base boards. Suspended ceilings. Staircases, elevators.
Rooflights.
Doors.Windows.
Expansion joints.
Part “Architecture”:
Introduction to architectural design.
Types of buildings. Building regulations for people with disabilities. Concept innovation design.Investment design.Design phases.Design content and scale.Modular system and modular co-ordination of building sizes.Use of design documentation on the building site.
Additional training:
During the semester,  in the beyond class scheduled hours, a 2x6h training is planned for 2 days – a visit to manufacturers- Wienerberger, Knauf, etc., transpotrt provided by the companies.
