The subject provides knowledge about design, as related to one of its four main parts. At the very beginning of introducing students to Graphical Design they have already acquired some knowledge and skills gained from Drawing, Color Science and the Theory of Composition academic subjects. Students shall be introduced to the compulsory terminology, being an inherent part of the designers graphic-design-glossary. Acquiring the specific terms and terminology occurrs throughout the process of hands-on experimental work during practical sessions and course tasks. Students learn to work out the composition graphic scale and to apply a creative approach to it when using the symbol-character relations when transforming them into iconic-character relations, as used by the Unknown marketing-and-advertisment specialists. The training course contains the following projects: Trade mark, Calendar for the academic year of LTU, Graphical representation of the furnishing component and the system (the process) as part of it, Poster on a chosen subject of "Engineering Design" discipline.
