Nature, scope and objectives of urban planning. Urban classification, typification by function, and basic structural elements of settlements. Problems and analysis when planning settlements, tendencies in development, zoning and technical infrastructure, and engineering networks.Urban design - main principles of planning settlement areas, building development, street network, engineering and technical networks, types of intersections, squares, pedestrian zones, parking lots and garages. Spatial zoning of inhabited areas - residential areas, central areas and areas of public services, industrial zones, sports and recreational areas, green areas and others. In the course of the semester students are supposed to develop general urban plan of the settlement, urban regulatory and construction development plan, and a single detail of the central part.
