Main topics: Essence of reinforced concrete, strength and deformation properties. Reinforcement – purpose, types. Stages of the stressed state. Fundamentals of the admissible stresses method, failure stage and method of limiting states. Calculation of elements acc ording to normal cross-sections subjected to bending: general conditions, rectangular cross-section, simply-supported slab cross-section. Calculation and construction of slabs: undirectionally and two-way reinforced, supported on three sides, methods according to an elastic system and with force redistribution. Calculation of inclined cross-sections. Coverage of M and Q diagrams. Calculation and construction of primary and secondary beams. Dimensioning of torsion. Calculation and construction of columns: sections with centric compression, eccentric compression and torsion with symmetric and asymmetric reinforcement. Determination of the curvature and rigidity of reinforced concrete cross-sections and of deformations. Calculation for normal crack origin. Calculation and construction of concrete and reinforced concrete foundations. Prestressed reinforced concrete elements – general conditions, methods of prestressing, anchoring of the prestressed reinforcement, determining the stressing force and the geometrical characteristics of reduced sections, calculation according to the I group of limiting states.
