Qualification Characteristics: the program qualifies graduates for execution of the following activities:

  • Preparation of investment projects in accordance with the acquired technical qualification;
  • Technical management of building sites;
  • Organization and management of production activities of construction companies as well as of their production bases;
  • Control and management of the quality of constructions and construction products;
  • Participation in the administrative attending of the investment process;
  • Offer-preparation activity;
  • Teaching and scientific research activities.

The Academic Curriculum is prepared on the grounds of the Higher Education Law, state requirements for the degree „bachelor“ and the relevant decrees and regulations by a working commission selected from the academic staff of VSU.

The Academic Curriculum includes the general subjects, general engineering subjects and special engineering subjects which are qualified according to the requirements of the Higher education Law as compulsory, elective and optional. 29 subjects of them are assessed with semester examinations and 14 with currant evaluation.

There are foreseen compulsory physical education and sports activities from the I semester till IV semester (60 hours per semester). The physical education and sports activities are over with the countersigning in the student's record book by the leading teacher (trainer). After the compulsory hours in foreign language the students are given the opportunity for additional hours in the respective foreign language.

The students must elaborate and defend 13 course projects which evaluations are included in the academic records and the enclosures of the diplomas.

The students' training practice includes: geodesy practice (80 hours in the II semester); practice training in construction companies as assistant-technical directors with duration of 2 weeks (80 hours after gradating the VI semester); construction sites visits under the guidance of professors in I, II, IV, VI, VII and VIII semester. In this way the total amount of hours for the training practice is 280 hours.

In the academic curriculum for each subject are determined credits on ECTS that gives opportunity for greater mobility of the students. The total amount of the credits for a 4-year course is 240. The students receive the definite number of credits for each subject after the countersigning of the semester and the successfully passed semester examination or current evaluation.

The education ends with the elaboration and defense of a diploma work. Every graduate chooses department in which he/she will elaborate the diploma work between the three profiling departments: “Construction Installations and Architecture“, “Construction Technology and Mechanization“, “Construction Organization and Economics“. The defense is performed in front of a State Examination Commission that includes no less than three professors with academic ranks and representatives of companies-employers.
