The General Assembly is a supreme collective body of management that includes all lecturers with academic rank on basic labor contract, representatives of the lecturers without academic rank, of the students, doctor-candidates and the administrative personnel. The General Assembly accepts or changes the Regulations of the school activity, it selects the members of the Academic Council, of the Regulatory Council and the Rector, and it accepts the annual report of the Rector for the VSU state and the annual report of the Chairman of the Regulatory Council.
Chairman of the present General Assembly of VSU is Prof. Dr. Eng. Totu Daalov.

The Academic Council is a collective body of management of the academic and scientific activity. Its members by right are the Rector, who is the chairman of the Council and there are elected representatives of the academic staff, the employees on basic labor contract in the school, of the students, doctor-candidates, of the personnel and the no less than three forth of the members should have academic rank.

The Regulatory Council is the body for inner control of the VSU „Lyuben Karavelov“ activity. The Regulatory Council controls the conformity with the law of the selection of the managerial authorities, it prepares standpoint on budget plan of VSU and its execution and it give reports for its activity in front of the General Assembly at least once a year.
